I am leasing my car and will be returning it at the end of the lease. How does Appearance-Gard® benefit me?

Appearance-Gard® helps you maintain the new look of the vehicle while you have it and can assist to significantly reduce your lease-end penalties for wear and tear.

If I make a claim, won't my insurance premiums go up?

No! Appearance-Gard® provides a warranty that allows you to take care of the cosmetic damages to your vehicle without your auto insurance premiums being affected at all.

I am planning to purchase/lease a pre-owned vehicle; can I get Appearance-Gard® for my vehicle?

Yes! Your selling Dealership must certify that there are no pre-existing damages at time of sale on the vehicle.

If I find damage to my car, how do I make a claim?

Simply click on the claims link and follow the easy step-by-step claims process. A representative will contact you to arrange for the damage to be repaired.

If my key is stolen, what do I do?

Do I have to return every year to my Dealer to re-apply my rust protection?

No, you do not need to return for any re-application. You maybe required to return to your Selling Dealer for inspections. See warranty for details.

What must I do to maintain my warranty?

If you are on an Inspection Coverage Warranty, return to your selling dealer for an inspection every 24 months within 30 days of original date of application. See warranty for details.

What should I do if I see rust on my car?

Damage, once begun, may spread substantially unless repairs are promptly made. In order to minimize any additional damage, contact your Selling Dealership within 30 days from the onset of rust to initiate a claim.

What happens if I miss an inspection?

As outlined on the warranty, missing inspection(s) void your coverage. See warranty for details.

What happens if I move or if my dealership closes?

Your servicing dealership is authorized to do inspections. Royal Warranty is not responsible for any fees that maybe incurred due to inspections. Contact us with your servicing dealer’s details and we will ensure that your new dealership is set up to access our online e-inspection system.

I smoke in my vehicle, are cigarette burns covered under my warranty?

Cigarette and cigar burns are covered if you have purchased the Rip, Tear & Burn Warranty. There is a $25 deductible for cigarette and cigar burns. See warranty for details.

iSelect Coverage™

i-Select Coverage™ Mechanical Breakdown Protection

Can I renew the i-Select Coverage?

Yes, the i-Select Coverage™ can be renewed. A request for replacement must be made at least 30 days or 1,600 kilometres prior to the expiry of coverage. A full mechanical inspection of the vehicle may be required.

How do I file a claim?

In case of a breakdown, take immediate action to prevent further damage by getting the vehicle to the nearest licensed repair facility. Call customer service if assistance is required in locating a licensed repair facility. The service manager at the facility should call customer service and review coverage and register the repairs. Is i-Select Coverage™ cancellable and/or transferable?

I wasn’t offered this product when buying the vehicle can I return to the dealership to purchase i-Select Coverage™?

Yes, once the vehicle passes a complete mechanical inspection. Certain conditions apply.

My car already has a manufacturer's warranty, why do I need the Tire-Gard® Road Hazard Warranty?

The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover road hazard to your tires. The Tire-Gard® Road Hazard Warranty will ensure that your tires will be safely repaired. If the tire cannot be safely repaired it will be replaced when damaged by road hazards.

What do I do when I have a flat tire due to a Road Hazard?

Return to your selling Dealer and your tire will be repaired or replaced. Refer to your warranty for details.

Sharkskin™ Surface Protection

Can I transfer the warranty?

Yes, the Sharkskin™ warranty is transferable to the next private purchaser of the vehicle for the remaining term on the warranty.

What should I do if I notice damage, fading or staining?

In order to minimize any additional damage, contact your Selling Dealership as soon as possible to initiate a claim.

Will Nitrogen affect the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) on my vehicle?

No. Nitrogen will help maintain proper inflation in your tires and reduce the number of faults detected by the TPMS.

Is Nitrogen explosive or a hazard?

No. Nitrogen is a safe, non-combustible, non-flammable, non-corrosive gas.

Do I still need to check my tire pressure?

Yes. Transport Canada advises to check your tires once a month, especially before you head out on a long trip.

Can I add regular air to my tires when nitrogen isn’t readily available?

Yes. Nitrogen can be mixed with compressed air if required. However, to maintain the safety and benefits of nitrogen, return to your Selling Dealer at your earliest convenience and have them purge and refill the tire with nitrogen.

Can I transfer this coverage to another owner?

This coverage can be transferred to a subsequent private purchaser of the covered vehicle for the remainder of the Term on the certificate. See warranty for details.
